Advantage Assam 2.0: AASU Applauds Investment Surge, Calls for Local Employment Opportunities
The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) has welcomed the significant investment commitments made during the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit but emphasized that these investments will only be beneficial if they generate substantial employment for local youth. The student body insists that job opportunities arising from these projects should not be limited to lower-tier positions but must also include technical and managerial roles to ensure sustainable economic growth. While both national and international investors, along with local stakeholders, have expressed interest in Assam’s development, AASU stressed that mere announcements are insufficient—effective implementation is essential to build public trust and drive meaningful progress.
