Government to Introduce Legislation on Coaching Institutes; Civilian Awards Announced
The State Cabinet, in its meeting on Sunday, Government to Introduce Legislation on Coaching Institutes; Civilian Awards Announced, approved the introduction of the Assam Coaching Institute Control and Regulation Act to enhance the governance and operational efficiency of private coaching institutes. Additionally, it sanctioned amendments to the Kokrajhar University Act and the Veterinary and Fishery University Act to facilitate necessary legislative updates.
Chaired by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the meeting also approved the establishment of two mega industrial parks in Morigaon and Kamrup, under the Industry Department, with land already allocated for the projects.
Furthermore, the Cabinet decided to establish accredited driver training centres and automated driving testing tracks across all legislative constituencies. With this decision, the District Transport Officers (DTOs) will no longer have the authority to issue driving licenses, ensuring a more standardized and automated licensing process.
