  • An ATM installed inside the Panchavati Express has successfully completed its trial run, marking a first-of-its-kind innovation in Indian Railways, allowing passengers to withdraw money while the train is in motion.

    Indian Railways Conducts Successful Trial of First Onboard ATM Facility, An ATM has been installed in the air-conditioned coach of the Panchavati Express (Manmad–Mumbai route), allowing cash withdrawals while the train is running.

  • Successful Trial Run:
    The trial run was mostly smooth, with brief network issues between Igatpuri and Kasara due to tunnels and low mobile coverage.

  • Project Under INFRIS:
    This initiative is part of the Innovative and Non-Fare Revenue Ideas Scheme (INFRIS) in partnership with the Bank of Maharashtra.

  • Accessibility and Security:

    • The ATM is accessible to all passengers (22 interconnected coaches).

    Besides cash withdrawal, passengers can also order cheque books and receive bank statements.
