Approximately 10,000 Youth to Showcase Bagurumba & Bardwi Sikhla in Guwahati: Assam CM

• Mass Cultural Performance: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that 8,000 to 10,000 youth will perform Bagurumba and Bardwi Sikhla in October at Sarusajai Stadium, Guwahati, to showcase the Bodo community’s rich cultural heritage. The announcement was made during the 57th Annual Conference of the All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) at Bodofa Fwthar, Dotma, Kokrajhar.
• Educational Initiatives:
  • Kokrajhar University to be established before April 15.
  • A new campus of Bodoland University will be set up in Udalguri.
  • A medical college will be established in Udalguri within three years.
  • 35 Bodo high schools in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) will be upgraded to model high schools to improve educational standards.
