Wildfire Ravages Over 50 Bighas of Forest in Biswanath; Locals Assist Firefighters
A wildfire erupted behind the Biswanath Development Block on Tuesday morning, rapidly spreading across the forested area and raising concerns among residents and authorities.
Officials estimate the affected area at 50-60 bighas, while locals claim nearly 100 bighas have been consumed.
The cause of the wildfire remains undetermined.
A resident reported that the fire started around 10 AM and has been burning for over an hour and a half.
Fire & Emergency Services personnel are actively working to contain the blaze, with three fire brigades deployed for firefighting efforts.
