Expansion of Lachit Barphukan Police Academy: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced plans to enhance the academy in Dergaon, Golaghat district.
New Facilities: The expansion includes a CBSE school, nursing and medical training centers, and a stadium for public use, similar to Guwahati’s Sarusajai Stadium.
Revamped Academy: The announcement followed the inauguration of the first phase of the academy’s redevelopment.
Police Medical College: The government is also considering establishing a police medical college in Dergaon, benefiting both Assam Police and the local community.
