DEE LP UP Teacher Recruitment 2025: The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam has announced two job notifications for filling 4500 Assistant Teacher positions in Lower and Upper Primary Schools of Assam. Only Indian Citizens who are permanent residents of Assam and have passed either the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) or the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) are eligible to apply for these vacancies through online mode.

DEE LP UP Teacher Recruitment 2025 Vacancy Details

Name of the Post: Assistant Teacher (LP) & Assistant Teacher (UP)
No. of Post: 4500 Posts
  • Lower Primary: 2900 Posts
  • Upper Primary: 1600 Posts
District-wise vacancy: The district-wise, medium-wise and category-wise break-up of vacancies showing the reservation for OBC/ MOBC/ SC/ ST(P)/ ST(H)/ PwD/ Women /Ex-Servicemen etc. will be notified & updated in due course of time.
Scale of pay: Pay Band – 2 (PB-2) @ Rs. 14,000/- to Rs. 70,000/- plus Grade Pay and other allowances as admissible as per “The Assam Service (Revision of Pay) (Amendment) Rules, 2019”.

Eligibility Criteria:-

Nationality: Candidates must be a Permanent Resident of Assam .
Small Family Norms: No person having more than two living children on or after 01/01/2021 from a single or multiple partners shall be eligible for appointment as per the Govt. policy on Small Family Norms .
Medium of Instruction: Either the Language-I or the Language-II of both ATET and CTET candidates shall match the medium of instruction of the school, wherein the candidate wishes to apply
ATET/ CTET Qualification: The candidates who have passed ATET/ CTET for Lower Primary / Upper Primary will be eligible for applying.

Age Limit:

The Candidates Should Not be less Than 18 Years of Age and Not more than 40 Years of Age as on 1st January 2025.
  • For ST Candidates: 05 Years+
  • For SC Candidates: 05 Years+
  • For OBC Candidates: 03 Years+
  • For PwD Candidates: 10 Years+

Educational Qualification:

(i) Assistant Teacher (LP) Qualification:

  • Must have completed Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50%  marks.
  • Possess a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Must have cleared Assam TET or Central TET for Lower Primary School.

(ii) Assistant Teacher (UP) Qualification:

  • Must have completed Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent).
  • Should hold a degree from a UGC-recognized University.
  • Possess a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR Bachelor of Education/Bachelor of Elementary Education.
  • Must have cleared Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary School.

(iii) Science Teacher (UP) Qualification:

  • Must have completed Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent).
  • Should hold a B.Sc. degree from a UGC-recognized University.
  • Possess a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR Bachelor of Education/Bachelor of Elementary Education.
  • Must have cleared Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary School.

(iv) Hindi Teacher Qualification:

# Completion of Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary education or its equivalent.
# Graduation with Hindi as a subject from a UGC-recognized University.
# 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or a degree in Bachelor of Education/Bachelor of Elementary Education.
# Passing the Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary School.
