Guwahati’s ₹300-Crore Convention Centre Set for Completion Next Year: Chief Minister
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Friday that the city will soon have the first major convention centre in the eastern region. During his inspection of the construction progress at Panbazaar, he highlighted the facility’s potential to position the state as a key business and diplomatic hub. Designed to host international events like Advantage Assam, the centre will feature two convention halls with capacities of 900 and 1,500, along with 100 regular hotel rooms and 200 small auditoriums. Additionally, it will offer 25 premium suites to accommodate global leaders, including Heads of Nations, Presidents, and Prime Ministers.
