India to Boost Cancer Care and Traditional Medicine in BIMSTEC Nations : PM Modi at Summit 2025 – 6th BIMSTEC Summit

India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, announced support for cancer care and the establishment of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Traditional Medicine for BIMSTEC countries at the BIMSTEC Summit 2025 held in Bangkok.

PM Modi introduced a 21-point action plan at the BIMSTEC Summit, focusing on cooperation across many sectors, especially public health. -
Cancer Care Support:
India will provide training and capacity building in cancer care to BIMSTEC countries. -

India will set up a CoE to promote research and development in traditional medicine across BIMSTEC nations. -

Through the Ministry of Ayush, India offers scholarships for undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. courses in Ayurveda, Yoga, Siddha, Unani, and Homeopathy to BIMSTEC students.-
