  • The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Tinsukia, Assam, is set to launch a 15-day national campaign titled “Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan” starting from May 29, 2025. It will also focus on disseminating information regarding various government schemes and policies beneficial to farmers.

Important Key Points:

  • The campaign will emphasize the use of soil health cards for balanced fertilizer application, including micro-nutrients, and promote the judicious and appropriate use of chemical fertilizers. Additionally, it will serve as a platform to collect feedback from farmers on grassroots innovations and help align agricultural research priorities accordingly.
  • This nationwide initiative is supported and guided by the Department of Agricultural Research & Education, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), and the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India.
  • In Assam, the campaign will be implemented across all Krishi Vigyan Kendras with support from the Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Zone VI, Guwahati, and the Directorate of Extension Education of Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat. The campaign in Tinsukia district is expected to reach approximately 10,400 farmers, covering all developmental blocks and Gaon Panchayats.
