    1. Festivities Begin:

      • Rongali Bihu (also called Bohag Bihu) has begun, with Goru Bihu marking the first day of the seven-day festival.

      • Traditional Preparations: The sounds of dhol-pepa-taal-gogona are resonating throughout the state as celebrations intensify.

    2. Seven Days of Bihu:

      • The festival spans seven days, with each day dedicated to a different theme:

        • Goru Bihu (for cows)

        • Manuh Bihu (for humans)

        • Goxai Bihu (for gods)

        • Tator Bihu (for weaving)

        • Nangal Bihu (for ploughing)

        • Senehi Bihu (for affection)

        • Chera Bihu (farewell).

    3. Cultural Programs:

      • Traditional Bihu dance, Husori, Bihu Naam, and Jeng Bihu performances are organized.

      • Bihu competitions such as Mou Kunwari and Bihu Kunwari are held, attracting large crowds.

      • Traditional dishes like pitha and laru are enjoyed during the festivities.

    4. Guwahati’s Celebrations:

      • Several noted Bihutolis (celebration spots) in Guwahati, such as Guwahati Bihu Sanmilani at Latasil Field and Pub-Guwahati Bihu Sanmilan at AEI Ground, will kick off their events from Monday.

      • Guwahati Bihu Sanmilani will mark 74 years of celebration this year, being the first to bring Bihu events from the field to the stage.

    5. Exclusive Programs and Performances:

      • Efforts are made to offer unique attractions such as Mukoli Bihu and Husori performances.

      • A special performance by Neel Akash on April 17 marks the concluding day of the celebrations.
