Mahapurush Srimanta Sankaradev University recently conducted a week-long series of yoga workshops across various parts of Assam, aiming to promote physical and mental well-being and foster a healthier society.

Comprehensive Yoga Sessions:
In Tezpur, master’s degree students Triton Dev Nath, Reshma Debbarma, and Smita Devi led workshops covering fundamental postures (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama), sun salutations (Surya Namaskar), and guided meditation. Participants experienced various yoga styles, including Hatha Yoga, alignment-based exercises, and restorative yoga. -
Engagement with Educational Institutions:
The workshops were held at multiple venues, such as Tezpur College, Tezpur District Sports Association, Cricket Association Tezpur, local children’s homes, and schools including Sankardev Shishu Bidya Niketan, Rashtrabhasha Vidyalaya, Gandhi Memorial ME School, and Playground LP School. Special yoga competitions were organized at schools to inspire students to embrace yoga from a young age. -
Community and Institutional Support:
The Additional Superintendent of Police, Sonitpur, praised the students’ efforts, acknowledging the value of such outreach programs in promoting public health. Tezpur College collaborated with the university to host a two-day intensive yoga camp, with participants expressing gratitude for the opportunity and noting the physical and emotional benefits gained.
