Important Key Points:

  • Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA): Launched on May 29, 2025, this 15-day nationwide campaign aims to bridge the gap between agricultural research and field-level implementation. Over 2,000 scientists are visiting 700 farms across the country to educate farmers on modern farming techniques, including advanced technology in agriculture and fisheries.

  • Foundation of Agricultural Projects: During his visit to the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Piprakothi, East Champaran, Chouhan laid the foundation stones for agricultural projects worth ₹6 crore. He praised the KVK’s efforts in promoting agricultural development in Bihar.

  • Record Foodgrain Production: India’s foodgrain production has reached a record high of 354 million tonnes in the 2024-25 period. Chouhan attributed this achievement to farmer-friendly policies, including increased minimum support prices (MSP) and timely provision of subsidized fertilizers.

  • Focus on Pulses and Oilseeds: While overall foodgrain production has increased, Chouhan emphasized the need to accelerate the output of pulses and oilseeds to meet domestic demand and reduce import dependency.
