Workers in Assam govt-run tea gardens to get Rs 250 daily wage from October 1
Why in News?
- On International Tea Day, May 21, 2025, the Assam government announced a significant wage increase for workers in state-run tea gardens. -
One-Time Financial Aid: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced a ₹5,000 one-time aid for over 7 lakh tea garden workers, recognizing their contributions to Assam’s tea industry over the past 200 years .
-
